Want to know what your out-of-pocket costs will be at Thrive Counseling Center?

Before your first appointment, it’s a good idea to call your insurance provider to better understand your mental health benefits.


Use the questions below to help you get clear, accurate information about what’s covered.

Provide your insurance company with the following information:

  • Practice Name: Thrive Counseling Center

  • Individual NPI: Found at the bottom of each clinician’s bio on Our Wellness Team page


Ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have a deductible that applies to mental health services?
    • If yes, how much has been met so far? 
  • What is my copay or coinsurance for each therapy session?
  • Does my plan run on a calendar year (Jan–Dec) or have different start/end dates?
    • This helps determine when your deductible and out-of-pocket max reset.


These codes represent common therapy session types:

  • 90791 – Initial intake session
  • 90837 – 53+ minute individual therapy
  • 90834 – 38–52 minute individual therapy
  • 90832 – 16–37 minute individual therapy
  • 90846 – Family/couples therapy (without client present)
  • 90847 – Family/couples therapy (with client present)
  • 90849 – Multi-family group therapy
  • 90853 – Group therapy
     

Ask if there are any limits, pre-authorizations, or exclusions for these codes (for example, a limit on the number of sessions per year).


Be sure to ask:

  • Are telehealth sessions covered for the above codes?
  • Do I need to use a specific telehealth platform through my insurance?
  • Are there restrictions or different copays for virtual sessions?


Your out-of-pocket max is the most you’ll pay in a year before your insurance begins covering 100% of eligible costs.


(Note: This varies depending on your plan and benefit structure.)


When you call, write down the representative’s name, date, and a reference number for your call. This documentation can be helpful if there’s ever a discrepancy in your coverage.
